About Survival course

Our Survival courses focus on teaching you survival skills and basic bushcraft. Our courses are challenging both physically and mentally and are designed for all levels of fitness and experience.

This course is designed those who want a realistic course that will challenge you. This course focuses on the mental toughness required to survive and would suit those who have the ability to push themselves when under pressure. This course is designed for all levels of experience but we have found that the skills taught suit hillwalkers and mountain leaders, outdoor enthusiasts who want to develop their skills and understanding of outdoor living.

Our introductory course is designed around basic military survival skills training while making the course as realistic as possible. Our instructors teach you how to survive.

We have modernised traditional bushcraft skills and incorporated innovations in safety equipment and personal gear.

The course is a two day overnight Survival course designed for new comers and experienced outdoors people. 

The event is designed to be a tough physical and mental challenge. We cover a wide variety of subjects.

These subjects include:

Psychology of Survival.

Mental toughness.

Shelter – where, how and why.

Water, gathering, filtration and preparation.

Fire – fire safety, lighting and maintenance.

Food – rationing and food in the wilderness.

Survival equipment and emergency equipment.

Wilderness first aid.

Hypothermia and dehydration.

Hypothermia training.

Patient carrying.

Trapping. 

There are a number of phases to the event.

Phase 1:

Introduction phase – breaking you from civilization and bringing you into a survival situation.

Phase 2:

Training and skill acquisition.

Phase 3:

Operational stage and camp craft.

Phase 4:

Black phase – tests, military challenges and confidence challenges.

Phase 5:

Night phase – Are you afraid of the dark? 

Phase 6:

Further skills training – camp break down and move out.
